TIMEnet Multimedia

TIMEnet is a revolutionary concept that integrates multimedia formats into a seamless stream for the perfect presentation in the classroom or boardroom. It provides a platform for multimedia presentation in an interactive environment. It is the culmination of software and hardware development resulting from discussions and research with managers, teachers, audiovisual and education personel.

It encapsulates modern technologies such as digital multimedia distribution, the Internet, Infrared, Bluetooth and wireless equipment to provide a complete seamless tool for presentations, Internet access and the classroom enviroment.

TIMEnet consists of a number of modules based on the core principle of SERVER - RETRIEVER structure. When a user requests a multimedia program, the Server responds by searching through its stored library, retrieves the item and streams it a bit at a time to the user.

The server does not send the whole file at once but trickles only the bits that are needed. This is the most effective and efficient method of digital video and audio distribution.

By streaming the program, TIMEnet takes full advantage of controlling the flow of the program so the user can select where the video starts and stops. Unlike some systems, TIMEnet only sends what the user wants and does not overload the network by downloading irrelevant and unnecessary parts of the video.
